Stanley W. Plahn, age 95 of Chetek, WI, formerly of Clayton, WI passed away on Wednesday, June 6, 2012 at the Knapp Haven Nursing Home in Chetek. He was born on March 20, 1917 in Winthrop, MN to Fred and Bertha (Erdman) Plahn. At the age of two, the family moved to Clayton, where Stan attended and graduated from Clayton High School. On June 24, 1939 he was united in marriage to Agnes Ludke at Immanuel Lutheran-Silver Creek, and to this union three sons were born. The family made their home in the Clayton area where Stanley worked at the Clayton Cheese Factory. He was also very active with the Clayton Lions Club, Clayton Fire Department and proud friend of Bill W. for 57 years. Stanley was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Agnes. He is survived by sons, David (Shirley) of Houlton, WI; Dennis (Sue) of St. Cloud, MN and Doug (Becky) of Danbury, WI, as well as two grandchildren, four step grandchildren, six step great grandchildren and many other loving relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 9, 2012 at Faith Lutheran Church in Clayton with Pastor Margaret Grant officiating. Musicians are Carol VanHeuklom and Cindy Vanda. A visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday, June 8, 2012 at the Williamson-White Funeral Home in Amery, WI, as well as the hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at the Clayton Cemetery.
