Gloria E. Griffin

Gloria E. Griffin passed away at Willow Ridge Healthcare in Amery, WI on June 8th, 2012 at the age of 91. Gloria was born on March 2nd, 1921, in Amery. She was the daughter of Jennie Burman and Vincent Christensen. She married Glenn W. Griffin on August 3, 1942 and together they had one daughter, Rebecca (Griffin) Haug. Gloria had two sisters, Jeanne Miller of Washington and Jacquie Granum of Alpena, MI. She also had a half-brother Boake Christensen.

Gloria worked at the Golden Age Manor for 14 years. She was a member of the Congregational church her whole life and she enjoyed many years on the church choir and Eastern Star. She loved being a Girl Scout leader and she loved to bake for church functions and her friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Jeanne Miller, Glenn Griffin and Boake Christensen.

Those left to remember her are her daughter Rebecca and her husband Ron Haug; grandchildren, Brian and his wife Jackie and her one Great-grandson Evan William Haug, as well as granddaughter Jenny Cook (Haug) and her husband Matt Cook. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 13, 2012 at the Congregational Church in Amery. A visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, June 12 at the Williamson-White Funeral Home in Amery, as well as for the hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at the Amery Cemetery. Gloria’s smile will be missed and remembered by all.
