Howard Albert Fox

U.S. Veteran

Howard Albert Fox was born on September 6, 1934 in Volga, Wisconsin the son of Stanley and Edna (Bance) Fox. He grew up on the family farm and was Baptized and Confirmed at Redeemer Lutheran Church. He attended school at the Volga country school. On September 27, 1956 he was united in marriage to Marian C. Letson at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Turtle Lake, Wisconsin. He was a milk hauler for a short time before being drafted into the United States Army in 1957. He did his basic training at Fort Hood, Texas and was then stationed in Germany. He was released from active duty in 1959. He returned home and worked as a milk hauler as well as farming. Howard had an abundant sense of humor and enjoyed playing softball, cards, and bowling. He managed to get out fishing too as time allowed. He died at Amery Regional Medical Center on Monday, June 11, 2012 at the age of 77 years. Howard was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Clyde and Virgil Fox, sister Norma Moe and her husband Vernon and granddaughter Michelle Fox. He is survived by his wife Marian; sons: Steven (Beth Amy) Fox, Brian (Julie) Fox; daughters: Pamela (Gregory) Knutson, Beth Ann Fox and Laura (Brett) Sauve; 19 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. His also leaves brothers Lyle (Bernice) Fox, George Fox, Merlin (Nan) Fox; sisters: Artis (John) Brown, Barbara (Norman) Johnson, Betty (Charlie) Hanson, Mary Ann (Dan) Gathje; sister-in-law Katie Fox and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 15, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Amery with Deacon Bud Heiser officiating. Interment will be at the Fox Cemetery in rural Amery. Visitation will be Thursday, June 14 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home and for the hour prior to the service at the church.
